Subsurface Sewage Treatment Systems (Septic Systems)

Krista Krupa - Environmental Specialist

Eric Van Dyken -  Zoning Administrator

Kristi Caspers - Department Secretary

A Permit is required in Kandiyohi County to design, install, construct, alter, extend, and/or repair a Subsurface Sewage Treatment System(SSTS).  Kandiyohi County requires septic compliance inspections when, in Shoreland Management Zones, any land use/building permit or variance is requested for any improvement on, or use of the property, in any other zone, when a bedroom addition is requested, or when property is sold or transferred.

These standards are set forth by Minnesota Rules, Chapter 7080, and the Kandiyohi County Sewage Treatment Ordinance No. 27
